Thomas Mullan
Principal & Owner

Tom joined the practice in 1978 and then became sole owner in 2017. Tom has enjoyed fully renovating and building the successful team we have today. After 40 years as a dentist he has decided to step back from clinical practice but very much has his hands on the reins as owner and principal. He aims to spend more time working on his golf and enjoy more time with his growing family.

I finished my DMD (Dentariae Medicinae Doctor) degree at Coimbra's University, a student town, much like Cambridge. Relocated to England in 2008, worked in Market Harborough for a couple of years and moved to South Cambridge for a warmer climate. I enjoy all aspects of Dentistry and have an MSc in Restorative from the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute. Paulo is our implants provider having trained extensively in this field. My free time is spent with my wife and sons and of course the dog and cats. Travelling is part of my DNA and I'm always looking forward to it.

Mary Hodson
Dental Associate

Dr Mary graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2008 and has been working in Cambridgeshire ever since. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, especially helping anxious patients. She particularly enjoys composite bonding, excels at root fillings. Outside of dentistry she is very into fitness and health, animal welfare and her cat.

Taneem Ahmed
Dentist

Taneem is a passionate experienced dentist who thrives on delivering a happy outcome for his patients. He graduated from Cardiff University Dental School and since has provided all forms of general dentistry working in practices in Buckinghamshire, London and Cambridgeshire. He also has experience mentoring foundation-level dentists as a trainer. Taneem has a personal interest in restorative dentistry. Whilst working predominantly in private practice, he has been motivated to refine his skills, attending courses and utilising up to date technology in order to deliver the best smiles for his patients. Taneem provides the full range of Invisalign (and alternative aligner therapies) and SmileFast treatments. He is currently in the process of completing a masters in implant dentistry. Beyond working hours, Taneem is overly enthusiastic about films and music. He is also an avid cyclist.

Siobhan Shuttlewood

Siobhan has been with us since she qualified from Kings College University London where she sat the Royal College of Surgeons exams in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy .
Siobhan is passionate about oral health and care and attends courses regularly to update her knowledge and provide the best care for patients . She is also a member of Dental groups and associations Prior to Dentistry Siobhan had a long flying career with a longhaul airline so she has travelled the world quite a bit ! She qualified many years ago from Trinity College Dublin also with a psychology degree. At home Siobhan is a Mum to a daughter and a doggy Mum too to Frank her choccie lab.

Samantha Burns
Hygienist

Sam has worked in dentistry since leaving school. Initially a dental nurse in the Royal Air Force she was posted to various UK practices and also worked in the oral and maxillofacial surgery department at the RAF hospital in Germany. In 2000 she gained a place at Dundee Dental Hospital to train as a Dental Hygienist, where she was awarded Best All Round Student by her tutors. She enjoys her job and finds it very rewarding seeing patients return with improved oral health following the treatment and advice she has provided. Sam also enjoys promoting oral health and playing a role in the prevention of oral disease She is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygienists & Therapists, attending regular meetings. Sam keeps fit by attending the gym, enjoying spinning classes and circuit training. She also enjoys reading, cooking & keeping up with friends.

Claire Bate
Receptionist

Clare first worked at the practice as a dental nurse until she left to have her family. She returned after 10 years and is now our receptionist where she does a great job manning the phone and the desk. Clare is an avid reader and is partial to a nice G and T - long before it became trendy she says!

Beverly Howarth
Reception and Treatment coordinator

Beverley has a wealth of experience as a dental nurse and receptionist and management. She enjoys interacting with the patients and is a vital member of the team inside and out of the surgery. In Bev’s spare time she loves to travel and enjoys all outdoor activities. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Harley and family.

Kirsti Mantell
Dental Nurse

Kirsti has been at Burnside for over 2 decades and is our Decon lead. She is a true general factotum! She enjoys working in and out of the surgery and knows pretty much everything there is to know about the running of the practice. In her free time she is a keen dog walker and loves exploring the British countryside in her VW camper van Clover.

Tina Circuit
Dental Nurse

Tina Circuit has been qualified for many years and has great experience in implant dentistry. She spends her spare time with her children persuing outdoor activities.

Sarah Livings

Sarah has been been at Burnside for as long as we can remember! She is a mainstay of the team and her work and commitment to the practice and the patients is remarkable. She regularly donates blood and is a mean baker!

Charlotte O'Dell
Dental Nurse

Charlotte has been a qualified dental nurse for many years now and is our Radiography Lead. When not at work Charlotte enjoys walking her dog through the countryside and Kayaking along the river.

Jayne Mullan
Practice Manager

Jayne is Tom's wife of over 30 years. She has recently taken on the running of the office. When not at work she is usually walking her dogs, playing golf and looking after the garden at their home in Linton where they have lived with their two children. She too is partial to a Gin & Tonic!

Harriet Taylor
Aesthetics Provider

GDC: 252360
Harriet qualified from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in July 2014 as well as obtaining a degree in physiology from the University of Bristol. Harriet is a visiting dentist who provides our patients with their aesthetics needs. Her approach is tactful and skilful.
